This innovative series of sculptures, characterized by their 90-degree curves and ability to be manipulated into endless shapes, was a direct result of RXZ research into the Infinity series. 40 million Tangles were sold at McDonald’s during a single promotion in 2018. Patented and protected globally, Tangles are made up of 18 interconnected 90-degree curved sections that twist and turn freely in your hands. The motion is effortless, calming, and fun. Tangle has been made in small plastic that fits in your palm to indoor chrome sculptures, to large outdoor stainless steel sculptures 12' tall, to table bases. Tangle is more than just a toy! A broad demographic reach makes it appealing to adults, children, infants, grandparents, and even pets! It’s a stress reliever, hand therapy device, jewelry, and desktop companion. Articulated through an artistic movement that the creator, Zawitz, termed Curvism, the Tangle is an opportunity to physically engage with infinity via material form. Inspired by ancient design principles like those underlying the Tibetan Knot, Shodō calligraphy, vortex energy, and natural phenomena, Curvism is both innovative and profoundly familiar. Experientially, it is much more than a series of connected angles or curves. It describes our DNA, the undulating movement of waves, the great spiraling galaxies, and our ever-expanding universe. By expressing a state of constant approach, it portrays an epistemology free from limitations of linear time and space. Zawitz' recent Infinity works merge futurism with mythology; scientific innovation with alchemy; and quantum physics with the language of archetypal symbolism.
