NBC is set to premiere the previously announced competition format Ultimate Slip ‘N Slide this August from Universal Television Studio — a division of Universal Studio Group — Propagate and Critical Content.
The 10-episode series takes on the spirit of Wham-O’s iconic outdoor game (pictured), transforming it into a real-life water park full of gigantic slippery rides.
Pairs of siblings, best friends, couples and co-workers and other teams will compete in multiple rounds of games, including Human Pong, Body Bowling, Cornhole, Bocce Fall and many more.
The two teams that make it to the final challenge will take on the Big Slipper, a colossal multi-part slide, for the chance to win the title of Slip ‘N Slide champion and a cash prize.
Ultimate Slip ‘N Slide will be hosted by Saturday Night Live alum, comedian and actor Bobby Moynihan and comedian, actor and writer Ron Funches.
Howard T. Owens, Gregory Lipstone, and Kevin Healey executive produce for Propagate. Additional EPs are Tom Forman, Jenny Daly, Todd Richards, Bruce Kaufman, Shye Sutherland Sharp, Tina Nicotera Bachmann and Keith Geller.
The series will premiere Aug. 8 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.
“NBC is proud to be the home of some of the biggest and most outrageous physical competition shows and we’re thrilled to add this larger-than-life version of the classic backyard game to our summer lineup,” Jenny Groom, EVP, unscripted content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said in a statement.
